About the author

My name is Shane Sorensen and I am 23 years old.  I am a nurse by profession, but am only working part time in order that I may train as much as possible in my true passion Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  In January of 2011 my wife and I made the decision to move across the country so that I could pursue my dream of being a BJJ world champion. I have been training at Alliance Headquarters in Atlanta, GA since March of 2011.  My ultimate goal would be to become a black belt world champion.  I am currently under Romero "Jacare" Calvacanti and Lucas Lepri as a purple belt and also spend a lot of time with one of his top students, Pan am and World champion brown belt, Jonathon Thomas.  I am highly interested in sports nutrition, healthy eating, weight lifting, and positive thinking.  This blog was created to offer any knowledge that I may have aquired along my journey thus far, and also to document my journey as it continues.  Ultimately I hope this website will serve as a source of income that will allow me to stay focused on my dream, and also a networking opportunity that will allow me to meet sponsors and business partners.  Please help me to make my dream a reality and spread the word about my blog, the more visitors the better!
